A resident has raised safety concerns for locals walking near the dilapidated Airds Village Shopping Centre.
The resident messaged the Macarthur Chronicle concerned about the centre’s main sign, noting it had fallen into disrepair and had rusted metal hanging off it.
“I went to Airds Village Shops and the sign is a safety matter,” he said.
“There is an enormous amount of rust and poles stored in the sign and also lights hanging down.”
The future of the centre remains shrouded in mystery after Housing NSW previously confirmed the building was not part of plans for the Airds-Bradbury Renewal Project.
Residents have previously described the shopping centre as an “eyesore”.
The Macarthur Chronicle’s attempts to contact the centre’s owner were not successful.
Campbelltown Council have been made aware of the issue.
