Police brief served on Narellan pharmacist Luigi Sbirziola

The alleged child sex offences of prominent business identity and co-owner of three Narellan Town Centre pharmacies Luigi ‘Louie’ Sbirziola has returned before Picton Local Court.

A prominent Narellan pharmacist remains behind bars after charges were laid for a string of sexual offences allegedly committed against a 14-year-old girl in March this year.

Luigi ‘Louie’ Sbirziola, of Denham Court, who remains in custody, was not required to appear when his matter was mentioned in Picton Local Court this morning.

The 44-year-old co-owner of three Narellan Town Centre pharmacies was represented by Marsdens Law Group senior associate Madeleine Hughes.

Ms Hughes told Magistrate Ian Cheetham the police brief of evidence had been served.

Sbirziola was arrested on May 16 by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad following reports of a 14-year-old girl being sexually assaulted by a man not known to her.

He was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault deprive liberty, intentionally sexually touch child between ten and 16 years old and procure child for unlawful sexual activity

Sbirziola is yet to enter a plea on all charges.

The matter was adjourned to August 13 at Picton Local Court.
