The site of the proposed Oran Park High School is at the same location of Oran Park Public School, developed for joint-use between the schools.

The target date for construction completion for the high school is late 2019. Students wiull be welcomed from the beginning of term one, 2020.

High school students in the region have to travel to the closest high schools in Narellan Vale and Elderslie.

The school is set to include featured landscaping, highlighting the history of the old Oran Park Racetrack.

Camden Mayor Lara Symkowiak applauded the idea to honour the area’s heritage.

“I do think it is important, particularly in Oran Park with such a proud motorsport history,” she said.

“It continues the idea in the area, with council reflecting the history with names of reserves and streets.”

“I go to a lot of school activities and I see this from personal experience.
