A husband and wife duo were both slapped with drug charges after police launched an investigation into a dial a dealer system using encrypted media platforms.
Shane, 55, and Stephanie Webster, 47, both fronted Picton Local Court on Wednesday for the first time after being released on bail following a property raid at their home.
According to court documents, Strike Force Coomera was established by Camden detectives to investigate the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs within the region through a ‘dial a dealer’ system using encrypted media platforms such as Snapchat, WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram.
On October 13, officers raided the couple’s home at Oran Park and found cocaine in the main bedroom.
Shane was charged with possessing a prohibited drug – three bags of cocaine weighing 1.2g – which he pleaded guilty to at Picton Local Court on Wednesday.
Stephanie was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, to which she pleaded guilty to, and two counts of taking part in supplying prohibited drugs, which she will fight at a hearing.
The couple’s matters were adjourned until December.
