ORAN Park may soon welcome Camden’s tallest building, with a six-storey contemporary office complex on the drawing board.
The proposed $28.5 million commercial building would house up to 880 workers, with a range of large, medium and small businesses, including cafes and medical centres.
Mark Perich, a director of developer Greenfields, said it was only the start of turning Oran Park into the region’s commercial capital, with more than 150,000sq m of office space planned for the suburb.
“Oran Park is set to be the commercial hub of the region,” Mr Perich said.
“This is the first step for people to dip their toe in the water and buy into Oran Park in a commercial sense. This will be a building not seen in this area before.”
Set to be built opposite Oran Park Podium, the complex will include more than 10,000sq m of gross floor area and a three-storey underground carpark.
The site is adjacent to the future Oran Park train station.
Mr Perich said the office building would ensure the region was a great place to work and play.
“People are seeing the bright future of Oran Park,” he said.
A twin commercial building and nearby medium-density residential apartments are also in the pipeline.
The application is currently being processed by the Sydney South West Planning Panel.
Pending approvals, Mr Perich hopes the building is complete by the end of 2018.
