A man has been charged with drug and firearm offences following a vehicle stop in Elderslie yesterday.

A man has been charged with drug and firearm offences following a vehicle stop in Elderslie yesterday.

About 9.30am officers from Camden Police Area Command stopped a grey Holden in Jackson Crescent, Elderslie.

Officers spoke to the driver and during a subsequent search of the vehicle, allegedly discovered an amount of the drug, methylamphetamine.

The man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.

Police allege they later discovered and seized methylamphetamine, a gun, ammunition and cash during a search of the man’s Narellan home.

The 38-year-old was charged with seven offences including supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug, deal with the proceeds of crime, possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered pistol, not keep firearm safely and possess ammunition without permit.

The man was refused bail and will front Picton Local Court on July 23.
