An Elderslie couple has fronted court after police allege they committed a sex act with a female dog named Nala in the early hours of a winter morning in 2019.
Murat Ibrahim, 44, and Lynne Esme Maud Albright, 54, were charged in relation to the crime which police allege took place in Elderslie between 2.50am and 3.30am on July 9 last year.
Police also allege the act was captured on video. The pair was arrested on December 30 last year.
The duo resides at the same address and did not have legal counsel when they faced Magistrate Ian Cheetham at Picton Local Court on Tuesday.
Mr Cheetham encouraged the pair to speak to a solicitor. No pleas have yet been entered.
If found guilty, Mr Ibrahim and Ms Albright face a maximum penalty of 14 years in jail.
As part of their bail conditions, they cannot have custody of, care for or control of any animal.
Outside court, Mr Ibrahim repeatedly told the journalist reporting on the allegations that it was an “invasion of his privacy”.
The matter will return to Picton Local Court on March 10.
