Misfiring fireworks have marred the Saturday night finale of the Camden Show with concerning footage being widely shared on social media.
The footage shows two fireworks misfiring towards the large crowds gathered to watch the firework display on the edge of the Camden Showground.
A spokesman from Foti International Fireworks, which was responsible for the fireworks display, confirmed via text message an internal investigation was taking place.
“A comet misfired in the direction of the audience and we are doing an internal investigation,” Foti International Fireworks marketing and sales manager Tino Foti said.
“We are gathering information which will assist us in coming to a conclusion on what happened.”
The company was responsible for a major pyrotechnic malfunction in Canberra less than a month ago, which saw a barge of fireworks explode on Lake Burley Griffin.
Camden Show Society president Greg Wall said there was no reports of first aid treatment being required as a result of the fireworks mishap.
“The relevant authorities will do their own individual investigation,” he said.
“We have every confidence in Foti’s (International Fireworks), they are one of the biggest in the nation, and we will let their relevant authorities do their own investigation.”
