A born-again christian with a history of violence has avoided prison after kicking a woman in the chest following a dispute over a shared driveway.

Nenad Nasarik was living at a shared home in Leppington during January last year when he assaulted his neighbour in their driveway.

Nasarik, 37, lived in one half of the house while his neighbour lived in the other half with her son.

The two had an agreement Nasarik would park his car on the footpath outside the property.

According to court documents, the victim arrived home with her shopping to find Nasarik’s car parked in the driveway.

She yelled into an open garage on his side of the house “can you move your f*****g car?”.

An argument ensued during which Nasarik was pushed by the victim after he had stood in her face and said “you f*****g lazy b***h, can’t you carry your own shopping?”.

He then shoved her shoulders and spat at the ground near her feet.

Feeling threatened, the woman sought refuge in her car but after Nasarik had moved his own vehicle, he approached the driver-side door and kicked her in the chest.

A further scuffle ensued when the woman grabbed Nasarik’s arm causing him to fall to the ground outside the car.

He then pushed her back into the driver’s seat of the car leaving a red mark on her arm.

The woman was later hospitalised after experiencing chest pains.

She spent three days in Liverpool Hospital after doctors discovered deep bruising.

Nasarik’s lawyer told the court he had largely been a changed man following a series of assault convictions between 2004 and 2011.
