A 36-year-old man has been assaulted and robbed by a group of men as he walked home near Minto Railway Station.
Police are investigating the robbery that occurred in the Erica Lane carpark about a block from the station yesterday evening
Police said the man was walking home via the carpark about 7.20pm when he was approached by another man who asked him for a cigarette.
He agreed and was reaching for a cigarette when he was set upon by a number of men who assaulted him and stole his wallet.
The 36-year-old man suffered swelling and lacerations to his face and was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment.
Macquarie Fields detectives are investigating and have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
