THE Macarthur area’s Bonds underpants thieves have struck again, this time at Coles in Picton.
A Picton woman, 47, has been banned from the supermarket and been given a criminal infringement notice for stealing four pairs of Bonds underpants valued at $36.
The underpants were removed from their packet and placed into a bag last Tuesday at 10am.
Camden police said the woman then went to the checkout and paid for a box of doughnuts before leaving the supermarket.
She was stopped by staff and taken to the manager’s office before police arrived.
The woman declined to be interviewed by police.
The incident follows the theft of 21 pairs of Bonds underpants from Best and Less at Narellan.
Camden police believe the two incidents are not linked and were not carried out by the same woman.
As reported in the Macarthur Chronicle, the underpants theft was discovered by loss prevention officers who were reviewing CCTV footage at Best and Less on Friday, July 28, about 2.40pm.
They saw a woman remove a Big W bag from her handbag and place the underpants inside it before walking from the shop.
The woman is described as Caucasian, aged 45 to 50, with a medium build and short dark hair.
Anyone with information is urged to phone Camden police on 4632 4499.
