Macquarie Fields man Christopher Irwin has pleaded guilty to detaining and sexually touching a seven-year-old girl inside an abandoned house before Campbelltown Local Court today.
Police say the 34-year-old lured the rollerblading victim inside the Macquarie Fields house on June 1 by asking, “do you want to see something cool?”
Two men, aged in their 20s, and the victim’s grandmother allegedly entered the abandoned house and restrained him until the police arrived.
Irwin pleaded guilty to two new charges of take or detain person with intention to commit serious indictable offence and the sexual touching of a person under ten. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations.
Two of the original charges, being take or detain a child with intent to remove parental control and remain in building with intent to commit indictable offence, were officially withdrawn by the Director of Public Prosecutions representative.
The 34-year-old, who appeared on screen before Magistrate Ian Guy, only spoke twice during the proceedings responding “yes, your honour” each time.
He was committed to sentence in Campbelltown District Court. The matter will be first heard on November 22.
