The winner of the Macarthur region’s cutest baby for 2023 has finally been announced.
While each baby is adorable in their own unique way, it’s time to crown which little one who has stolen the most hearts across the region.
The little legend who took out the crown for this year was Millie Rose Sorensen from St Helens Park, who recently celebrated her first birthday.
Mum Lauren Sorensen said Millie Rose was their miracle baby after a difficult journey to fall pregnant which tragically included a miscarriage.
“We had been trying to conceive, and we found out I was pregnant, but it was an ectopic pregnancy which unfortunately ended in emergency surgery, and I did lose one of my fallopian tubes,” Ms Sorensen said.
“It was a tough time, but there was always a lot of hope. We had a lot of family and friends and, of course, my husband, who supported me.”
The couple met Dr Tim Chang at Nureva Women’s Specialist Health and he performed her surgery after the ectopic pregnancy. They ended up seeing him for their IVF journey through the Genea Fertility clinic.
When they found out they were pregnant, Ms Sorensen said they both cried with joy, but the initial weeks were stressful due to the memories of what had happened to them before.
But their loved ones could not have been happier when they could finally share their joyous news.
“She was our little miracle,” Ms Sorensen said. “She has a head of hair, big brown eyes that light up the room, and her smile is infectious. She was walking at nine months old, so she keeps me on my toes.”
Ms Sorensen said as Millie Rose’s parents, they always thought she was the cutest, but it was special to know she had the official title in the region.
The family live in St Helens Park after moving back to the Campbelltown area from Darwin a few years ago.
Angus, 15 months old and Kenzo Paul Ross, seven months old, came second and third place in the competition.
