Macarthur Station: Man allegedly stabbed during argument, brawl

A man has been stabbed following a brawl near a train station in Sydney’s southwest. One man, aged in his early 20s, has been arrested and is assisting police with inquiries.

A 21-year-old has been arrested after a brawl led to an alleged stabbing near a train station with paramedics rushing a man to hospital.

About 8pm on Thursday, emergency services were called to Menangle Rd, Campbelltown, near the train station following reports of an assault.

On arrival, police were told two men known to each other were involved in an argument before one of the men sustained a stab wound to the chest.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said they were called to a “brawl” about 8pm, and paramedics treated a patient who had been stabbed in the chest. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

A NSW Police statement said officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command arrested a 21-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Campbelltown police station where he was assisting police with inquiries.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
