The transformation of Leppington from paddock to pavement continues to take shape, with three multistorey proposals lodged in the lead-up to Christmas.
The three projects, ranging from four to eight storeys high, total more than 900 apartments and all are less than 1.5km from Leppington railway station.
Camden Council rejected one of the proposals, for 529 apartments on Rickard Rd, within a fortnight of being received.
Camden Liberal Mayor Peter Sidgreaves said the future of Leppington was being reviewed, despite the influx of proposed developments.
“The Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) is currently reviewing the Leppington precinct,” Cr Sidgreaves said.
“This work is being undertaken due to changes, such as the announcement of the Western Sydney Airport and Aerotropolis, since Leppington was originally rezoned back in 2013.
“It’s important the future role of Leppington is clearly defined, including the role it will play as an emerging strategic centre in the area.”
