Joel Lawlis, Timothy Grainger, Taylor Thompson guilty of Spring Farm break and enter, car theft

Three young friends have admitted to breaking into a home while the residents were sleeping to allegedly steal a white Mercedes Benz and a Gucci bag.

A young woman has become the third person to plead guilty to breaking into a southwest Sydney home in the middle of the night to steal a white Mercedes Benz.

Taylor Ann Thompson, 22, did not appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday where her lawyer Ehab Ghabach entered pleas of guilty to aggravated break and enter with people in the house and stealing a motor vehicle.

Thompson is the third to plead guilty over the matters after Joel Lawlis, 21, and Timothy Jordan Grainger, 22 confessed to the same charges.

The Ropes Crossing woman told police she only agreed to go for a drive from Blacktown to Spring Farm with the two men.

However Thompson drove her friends to Spring Farm in a purple Mitsubishi Lancer about 3am March 10.

The trio parked outside the house on Starke St, pulled up their hoods and slid on gloves before walking up the driveway into the backyard with torches, according to court documents.

They used tools such as screwdrivers to forcefully open the door before grabbing the keys for the white Mercedes Benz C200 Kompressor and took a Gucci bag from inside the car, according to court documents.

Police were called to the property following reports people were walking around the home with torches while Thompson drove away from the home with her car headlights off.

She drove a few hundred metres before pulling over when police began chasing her, court documents state.

Inside the car police found the three friends, a Gucci bag, three pairs of gloves, a torch, and screwdrivers.

In court, police alleged the friends formed a “joint criminal enterprise” to steal the valuable car, with Lawlis expressing “shame and embarrassment” for his actions, according to court documents.

In a letter to the victims Lawlis wrote: “Sorry for taking away your right to feel safe in your own home”.

Lawlis and Thompson will appear at Campbelltown District Court on November 11.

Grainger’s charges have been transferred to the Parramatta Drug Court.
