A young man has been charged with dangerous driving after a fatal crash on the Hume Highway tragically claimed the life of a teenager.

A teenager whose alleged dangerous driving caused a fatal crash on the Hume Highway has been named.
Jack McKenny, from Campbell in the ACT, was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death after a crash tragically claimed the life of an 18-year-old man.
Just after 1pm on June 11, emergency services raced to the Hume Highway at Sutton Forest after reports of a single-car crash.
A police statement details how officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and were told a car veered onto the median strip before hitting a tree.
One passenger, who court documents have identified as Jack Winters, died at the scene.
McKenny, 19, and another male passenger were taken to Campbelltown Hospital in a stable condition and later released.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and examined what happened.
Following investigations, McKenny was charged in August.
At Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday, a police prosecutor said they would need an adjournment to compile the brief of evidence.
The matter is set to return to court on December 20.
