ONE of the Macarthur area’s newest housing estates, Willowdale, in Denham Court, is in the running to win a Property Council of Australia Award.
Stockland’s Willowdale commmunity is a finalist in the Best Masterplanned Community award for NSW award, which will be announced in May.
Stockland general manager of residential communities, Richard Rhydderch, said Willowdale was one of its largest masterplanned communities in NSW and the site was continuing to lead the way in sustainable innovation, livability and design excellence.
“We are very proud of this remarkable community and its many achievements,
including a retained and revegetated riparian corridor, the implantation of walking
trails and parks, exercise facilities and the delivery of affordable housing,’’ he said.
Launched in 2013, Willowdale will eventually feature more than 3000 dwellings
including completed homes, retirement living and townhomes.
In 2016, Willowdale was accredited with the 6 Star Green Star – Communities rating for its world-leading design excellence, innovation and environmental stewardship as well as future economic prosperity and liveability.
Mr Rhydderch said Willowdale’s unique features included innovative architect-designed townhomes and the Willowdale Community Place; a sustainable house which functions as a community centre for playgroups, fitness sessions and DIY workshops for residents and the public.
