Gledswood Hills park and Spring Farm community centre one step closer
Residents are one step closer to seeing a playground at Gledswood Hills and community facility at Spring Farm.
Residents are one step closer to seeing a playground at Gledswood Hills and community facility at Spring Farm, after Camden Council appointed two contractors to bring the projects to life earlier this month.
Hadizk Group Pty Ltd will deliver a $400,000 playground at the corner of Duncombe Av and The Hermitage Way, Gledswood Hills.
The neighbourhood playground area will include a range of playground equipment, shade sail, large, central ‘kick around’ area, landscaping, trees, a shelter with two picnic settings, drinking fountain and bench seating.
HPAC Pty Ltd will deliver a $3 million multipurpose community facility of about 500sq m at Richardson Rd Spring Farm. The building will feature an activity hall, meeting room, foyer; kitchen, amenities and a 26-space car park.
Construction will start in May and is due to be complete late 2019, weather permitting.
Camden Mayor Theresa Fedeli said the two projects would be welcomed by the growing population in both areas.
“Gledswood Hills is home to more than 6000 people and Spring Farm is home to more than 5000,” she said.
“We know these residents, many of who are young families, need beautiful spaces to enjoy so we’re working hard to deliver this.
“When complete, the community facility and playground will provide creative and dynamic spaces for their respective communities, as well as residents all over the Camden area.”
