Geoffrey Sheridan charged with stealing police car in Sydney’s north west
A wild 48 hours allegedly saw a man break into a cop’s home, steal the keys of an unmarked police car before setting it on fire.

Police were tasked with tracking down one of their own vehicles after it was allegedly stolen from an officer’s home in the early hours in the Hills.
Geoffrey Sheridan, 50, allegedly broke into a home in Bella Vista at around 3am, stealing the keys of an unmarked Blue Ford Mondeo police car and a white Peugeot.
He also allegedly stole several NSW Police uniforms items including a high-vis vest, polar fleece jacket and a police hat.
Police say the unmarked car was discovered two hours later on fire in Macquarie Fields.
Sheridan allegedly continued his crime spree in Edmonson Park the following day.
Police will allege Sheridan entered a supermarket on Camden Valley Way armed with a gun, and stole cash before fleeing in a white Peugeot.
A white Peugeot was also found on fire in a park in Prestons.
Police searched a home in Macquarie Fields on Monday, allegedly locating the NSW Police issued items before arresting Sheridan.
He is charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, acquire firearm, steal motor vehicle, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and damage property by fire.
In Campbelltown Local Court, Sheridan appeared from custody via videolink.
His matters will be referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions before his next appearance in Liverpool Court.
Sheridan did not apply for bail.
