The two officers noticed that Franklin appeared to be nervous and was continually readjusting his underpants when he was strip searched.

During sentencing, the court heard Franklin was found guilty of the supply charge, and had pleaded guilty to the other charges.

His lawyer said Franklin had spent three months in custody for the offences, before he was given bail and had essentially been on house arrest ever since.

He also said Franklin showed immediate remorse following the incident.

The court heard Franklin, who works as an electrician, has a lengthy criminal history and has spent time in prison previously on drug charges.

Magistrate George Breton warned Franklin he is ‘skating on thin ice’ and should use the opportunity ‘to make a drastic change in his life.’

He was handed a two-year Intensive Corrections Order and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
