There is something in the water at one Cobbitty childcare centre with four staff members all expecting baby joy in the coming months.

Exploring Tree Macarthur director Jessica Owens said she can’t explain the sudden surge of baby fever but can’t deny there is something special in the works.

“We don’t know, we don’t know (what’s happening),” Mrs Owens said. “There is definitely something happening here. The parents are excited. The staff are excited. Everyone loves babies so it is something special to be a part of.”

Exploring Tree Macarthur staff members Breanna Donoghoe, Christianne Waters, Karra Auguste and Elysia Dzenis are sharing their pregnancy journeys together, adding a whole new dimension to their work relationship. Mrs Owens said a special bond has developed between the quartet, who are already planning future ways to support each other in their journeys.

“They are talking about when they finish work how they will all catch up and have mummy mornings and swap tips which is really lovely,” she said.

“One of the expectant mums in particular has just moved here from Queensland, so it will be nice for her, as well as the others.

“Three of the mums are second time mums but just to have that close-knit support system would be great.”

The childcare centre itself has also welcomed a surge of toddlers and babies in recent months, since first opening in Arcadian Hills estate one year ago.

“We have had a big year and just celebrated our first birthday at the start of this month,” Mrs Owens said.

“On our first day we had about 15 children, now we are just overflowing which is a good problem to have.”

Mrs Owens said having four staff members on maternity leave has not been a headache for the expanding business which has employed staff members with their long term vision in mind.

The childcare centre has no more spaces for 2020 and are fast approaching capacity for 2021. Exploring Tree Macarthur is building a new centre in Oran Park, expected to be open in 2021.
