PHEASANTS Nest empty nesters have put their luxurious and sprawling architect designed family house on the market before they embrace the next phase of their life.
Owner Con Tahatis said he bought the 2.75ha property at 30 Knox Rd in 2000 and then spent the next 10 years building his dream home but he and his wife were now moving on as four of their five children were now married.
“We slowly built the home over 10 years and we wanted a modern and architect designed home,’’ he said.
Moving to Pheasants Nest from Kingsgrove 18 years ago, Mr Tahatis said he and his wife were now keen to buy 2.02ha of land to build their next dream home, possibly in the Macarthur area.
Designed by CMT Archtitects, the six-bedroom and two-storey Pheasants Nest house features Australian, Greek, Italian and Spanish marble, a soaring atrium-style ceiling, marble entrance foyer, marble slabs sourced from the Wombeyan Caves, spotted gum timber flooring and a Western Australian karri hardwood deck.
The house is on the market through United Realty at Leppington and its website states the property also has light-filled interiors, an abundance of indoor and outdoor entertainment zones, underfloor heating, private guest accommodation and resort style pool.
Set behind security gates, the house has a gourmet kitchen with blue pearl granite benchtops, a private master suite on the southern end of the home and a private guest accommodation on the northern end.
There are four more bedrooms upstairs.
Other features of the home include a full bar with adjacent billiard/rumpus rooms, a full-length balcony, a 450sq m entertainment area, children’s wading area, barbecue hut and pizza oven.
United Realty selling agent Gary Tomlins declined to give a price guide but said he had received a number of inquires from potential buyers about the home.
The house will to auction on Wednesday, July 18, at Camden Lakeside Country Club at 7pm unless sold prior.
It will open for inspection on Saturday, July 7 and 14, at 11am.
