An elderly woman is in a critical condition after being thrown from a car in a high-speed collision. Another woman and two children were also involved in the crash.

A 68-year-woman is in a critical condition after being thrown from her car following a high-speed collision near Harrington Park this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the intersection of The Northern Rd and Cobbitty Rd about 8.45am.
Six people were impacted by the incident, including two children.
The elderly woman suffered serious facial and neck lacerations and has been transported to Liverpool Hospital by ambulance in a critical condition.
Two women and two children, estimated by police to be aged five and 10, were assessed by paramedics at the scene and treated for minor injuries. A man was also assessed at the scene.
Five NSW Ambulance crews and a Toll Ambulance Rescue helicopter attended the crash site, alongside duty operations manager Inspector John Brotherhood, who urged all drivers to take care on the roads.
“When we arrived it was quite chaotic with multiple patients and vehicles involved,” Mr Brotherhood said.
“Paramedics worked effectively to get in there are treat the patients as quickly as they could and worked extensively with other emergency services at the scene.”

Live Traffic Sydney tweeted about 12pm all northbound lanes of The Northern Rd were closed, as well as two southbound lanes and encouraged motorists to allow for extra travel time.
