Driver told “this is my town’’ before he is assaulted in a road rage attack
Camden police are keen to speak to a concrete pump truck driver, aged about 40, after a driver, 20, was assaulted in a road rage attack at Douglas Park.
A CONCRETE pump truck driver in his 40s is being sought by Camden police after a driver, 20, was assaulted in a road rage attack at Douglas Park on Thursday about 6.10pm.
Camden Police said the younger driver was attempting to overtake the truck, possibly a Hino, on Moreton Park Rd when the truck vehicle swerved and cut off the car, causing it to stop.
“The driver of the concrete pump truck stopped and approached the man as he sat in his car,’’ police said.
“The concrete pump driver was swearing and yelling at the man for driving too close to his truck, he was calling on the man to get out of his car but he remained in the driver’s seat.’’
Police said the truck driver then grabbed the man by the jumper and punched him on the side of the face.
The truck driver then took the man’s car keys and threw them into the bushes, and yelled ‘‘this is my town,’’ before driving away in the truck, and leaving the man stranded, police said.
The truck had orange guards and blue writing.
Police are keen to speak to a truck driver described as caucasian in appearance with dark blonde hair, facial stubble, a solid build and 170cm tall.
He was wearing an orange high-visibility vest, tan knee-length shorts and camel-coloured work boots.
