Disgraced former physiotherapist and convicted sex offender Brian Salim Sarkis has been barred from holding a position in the health industry for at least seven years after receiving sex acts in his Camden treatment room.

Sarkis admitted to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal that he had received oral sex in his treatment room by one female patient, touched the vagina of another patient at her home and sent pictures of his penis to a third female patient.

Sarkis has been barred from practising in the health industry for the next seven years.

All three events took place in 2015.

The former physiotherapist conceded he treated one of the female patients twice in July and August 2015 and rubbed her vagina each time. She was receiving treatment for a hamstring and shins complaint.

During the woman’s second visit, Sarkis asked for details of her tinder dates as he massaged her hamstring, rubbed her foot against his groin and fingered her vagina.

The pair kissed before the woman performed fellatio on Sarkis.

In September 2015, Sarkis visited the home of another female patient in which he admitted to touching her vagina with “some force”. The patient was also receiving treatment for a hamstring complaint.

Sarkis, following a treatment session with a third woman in February 2015, sent pictures of his penis to her. Five days later he received oral sex from the woman in his treatment room.

The disgraced physio is now working as a brand development manager in Melbourne.

At the tribunal hearing, which took place in July, Sarkis admitted to the unsatisfactory professional conduct.

“The conduct offends every sense of propriety, professionalism and integrity that the public is entitled to expect from a physiotherapist,” the tribunal stated.

Sarkis was also punished for failing to inform the Physiotherapy Board of Australia when charged with two counts of indecent assault in 2015.

He ultimately pleaded guilty to the charges and was convicted in Campbelltown Local Court in 2016.

Sarkis, now employed as a brand development manager for a Melbourne brewery, told the tribunal he had no plans to practice physiotherapy ever again and had surrendered his registration.

He was also ordered to pay legal costs of $8975.
