A developer who is making moves to deliver high density apartment towers in the rural village of Menangle Park has promoted the bold plans before an independent planning panel.
Dahua Group development director Kith Clark yesterday told the three-person Campbelltown Local Planning Panel that the new Menangle Park masterplan, which includes a high density zoning, supports a grand, long-term vision for the area.
“Menangle Park is Dahua’s flagship and most important project in Sydney,” he said.
“Our vision for Menangle Park is to create a thriving and active local community.”
Mr Clark said a “tier one design team” had been working on the masterplan which would deliver “density in the right locations” and create more jobs.

The planning proposal, if adopted, would see Dahua Group deliver a 55 per cent rise in the number of planned dwellings — from 3400 to 5250.
A high density zoning, which would accommodate buildings up to eight storeys high, would be introduced near the town centre under the proposed masterplan.
Mr Clark told the panel that Dahua Group had taken a long-term view of 20 to 30 years on the project and plan to operate the two proposed shopping centres.
The Campbelltown Local Planning Panel will publish its recommendations on the planning proposal request to Campbelltown Council by 4pm Friday.
