A day at the brewery ended with a visit from police for one Tesla owner, after a drunken trip saw him crash into a parked ute and drive across a neighbour’s lawn.

A Tesla driver got into a car’s front seat after having some beers before he crashed into a parked ute and drove off without leaving his details.

Daniel Paul Peachey, 33, of Narellan, fronted Picton Local Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving, and not giving particulars to another driver.

Police facts reveal Peachey had attended a Penrith brewery on March 16, where he consumed an “unknown amount of alcohol, mainly being Lager”.

Later that night, Peachey’s brother was driving when he stopped into the Narellan Town Centre to go into the shops. When he came back out, Peachey was sitting in the driver’s seat.

Peachey then started driving and attempted to travel around a left-hand bend but veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a ute parked on Frances St, Narellan.

Both cars sustained extensive front-end damage, but Peachy reversed the Tesla and continued to drive down the road before mounting the kerb and driving across the front lawn of another residence before returning to the road.

Police were called and found the car damaged and parked with its hazard lights on at a Narellan home.

Officers knocked on the door, and when Peachey answered, they asked to speak with the driver.

“Yea, that’s me,” Peachey replied, according to documents.

Police asked what happened to the car, and Peachey said, “What do you mean”.

The officers saw he was unsteady on his feet and slurring his words and questioned if he had anything to drink, and he said: “Yea, had a few beers”.

At court on Wednesday, Peachey’s lawyer asked for an adjournment to gather some subjective material and complete the traffic offenders program. The case returns to court next month.
