Central Way, Oran Park: Plans lodged to build seven-storey apartment blocks
A multimillion-dollar plan to build two apartment towers – including more than 170 apartments – has been proposed for one of Sydney’s fastest-growing suburbs.

The $81.5m blueprint for two apartment towers in a booming suburb in the Macarthur region has been unveiled.
A development application has been submitted to Camden Council for the construction of a seven-storey residential flat building complex, comprising of two blocks above a single basement car park on Central Way, Oran Park.
The residential building would be include 177 residential units, 277 vehicle spaces, and other associated works.
If approved, the development would sit near Oran Park Podium shopping centre, alongside a number of six and seven-storey residential and commercial buildings which have been approved and are at various stages of construction and occupation.
The planned residential development would be have pedestrian links to the future Oran Park train station, about 600m away.
“Given its location, the building is ideally placed to provide easy access for future residents to employment, retail and recreational facilities as well as existing and future transport infrastructure,” planning documents state.
“Approval of the proposal will further enhance housing diversity and activation within the Oran Park town centre.”
The plan was lodged by Greenfields Development Company, which is behind the major projects in Oran Park.
NSW Premier Chris Minns recently said Sydney’s future will need to focus on creating higher density housing in urban areas, in order to attract young people to the city.
“Sydney can’t grow by adding another street to the western fringe of Sydney every week … (because) you have to stretch social infrastructure over a bigger and bigger plane,” he said earlier this month.
“I think the best way to ensure we protect open space is to have buildings that go up.”
