A $90m “urban lifestyle” hotel, standing up to six storeys tall, is set to be the largest in a burgeoning Macarthur region suburb if approved by council.

A development application has been submitted to Camden Council for the Atura Oran Park Hotel which will house 184 rooms, conference and meeting facilities, an outdoor pool and facilities.

The project is a venture between Event Hospitality & Entertainment Limited and Greenfields Development Company, the developers of Oran Park.

It will also form part of the $680m development program for the Oran Park Town centre over the next four years, with the suburb set to welcome a leisure centre, commercial building, a residential tower and super pub’ Oran Park Tavern.

The proposed hotel, which will be attached to Oran Park Podium, would see further expansion of the shopping centre with restaurants, shops and the hotel entry on the ground level, with the main hotel lobby above.

The proposed hotel would also included an expanded shopping centre.

Greenfields Development Company general manager Mick Owens said the Atura Oran Park Hotel would be the largest and most sought after hotel of its type in the Camden area.

He said it would be an “urban lifestyle hotel” with an outdoor pool, terrace, restaurant and bar all overlooking the newly designed town centre and surrounding parks located within the Oran Park Podium precinct.

“The urban resort will be a key offering for the southwest Sydney corridor and for the Western Sydney Airport,” Mr Owens said.

“There is a shortage of good quality hotels in the area already, with the growth in businesses, major sporting events and planned population growth, a quality hotel and associated amenity will be needed even more.

“The Atura Oran Park is located in the town centre with access to many other facilities including the leisure centre which is currently under construction.

“Additionally, a need for local residents wanting a quality venue for visiting friends and family has been identified.”

Mr Owens said construction of the Atura Oran Park complex should start early next year, subject to approvals, and it was expected to open mid to late 2025.
