Campbelltown police are investigating several minutes of machete madness in a Bradbury house earlier this year, where three offenders stormed a home and left a man severely bleeding from the head.
The 25-year-old male victim was asleep in his lounge room on Sunday, January 6 when three men, each with balaclavas covering their faces, forced entry into the house on Campbellfield Av, Bradbury about 9.20pm.
One of the men, described as being about 190cm tall and of a large build, was armed with a machete.
The victim woke up and a scuffle broke out. He was hit in the head with a machete as a result of the scuffle, which caused a large laceration which was later treated at hospital.
The victim’s 25-year-old girlfriend, brother and older adults were alerted to the violence and forced the offenders to leave by foot.
Campbelltown crime manager Detective Inspector Greg Inger said police were unaware of the motive behind the attack.
“It’s hard to say (if it was targeted),” he said. “The victim has not been very forthcoming.”
Campbelltown police are appealing for public assistance to identify a Ford Falcon station wagon in relation to the incident.
The vehicle has alloy mags and its right brake light was broken.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Campbelltown City PAC Detectives on 02 9605 0499 or Crimestoppers 1800 333 000 and reference E 71613080.
