A child protection prohibition order is issued when there is a reasonable cause to believe the person is a risk to the lives or sexual safety of children.

Camden police arrested the 25 year old on Monday morning at a house where he had been living.

Court documents seen by the Chronicle allege the 25 year old took control of his mother’s password-protected iPhone in the early hours of February 28 and accessed a Russian photo-sharing website for almost three hours, between 12.47am and 3.36am.

The order prevented the man from using a password-protected mobile phone or any mobile phone to access the internet.

He was also only allowed internet access from a single computer at his address and this access was solely for employment or rehabilitation purposes.

Camden police acting crime manager Detective Sergeant Erryn Williams said the protection of the community was paramount.

“We work tirelessly to monitor any offenders in the community, whenever breaches are detected,” she said.

“There are no people more worthy of our best efforts than our children.”

Sergeant Williams reminded the community police were always intensely investigating sexual crimes in the region.

“People have to let police investigate and do our jobs,” she said. “People seeking to take the law in their own hands could face criminal penalties.”
