The family of a seriously-injured motorbike rider who collided with a car in a fiery crash at Ambarvale has provided an update following the incident.
Emergency services were called to the crash about noon on Tuesday on Copperfield Drive after motorbike P-plater Kyle Bugatto was reportedly thrown several metres after colliding with a car.
Mr Bugatto, 21, and was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
He sustained two broken legs, a broken arm and a spine fracture as a result of the collision and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
His sister Jayde Bugatto said he would be bed-bound for the next few months and would require rehab and physical therapy to “get back on his feet”.
She created a GoFundMe to help raise $9000 for Kyle to account for his loss of wages and medical costs associated with his recovery.
The 65-year-old woman driving the car suffered chest injuries as a result of the crash and was also treated at the scene before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital in a stable condition for treatment and mandatory testing.
Fire Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the vehicles caught on fire following the crash and spilt fuel into the gutter.
“We had two vehicles, well alight. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get this fire contained,” he said.
“This includes a running fuel fire where the fuel has spilt out of the vehicle and has caught fire, and the flames are literally running down the road in the gutter.”
Campbelltown police are requesting community assistance to view any CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the collision.
