A man remains in custody on remand after he was charged with being an accessory after a murder in a “quiet” suburb in Sydney’s southwest.

Just after 7.15pm on November 24, 2021, emergency services were called to Queenscliff Drive, Woodbine following reports an injured man had approached a person for help.

The 33-year-old man was treated by paramedics for multiple stab wounds, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

On November 30, police were notified the man died in hospital and he has since been identified as Reece Munce.

Ali Moussa, 37, was arrested on June 15 at Minto and charged with accessory after the fact to murder with police alleging he aided the person who murdered Reece Munce from November 20 to 24.

He has also been charged with five counts of supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis between February and March this year at Campbelltown.

Mr Moussa, a Blairmount resident, did not apply for bail at court on Wednesday and remains in custody on remand. The matter will next appear at Campbelltown Local Court on August 31.

Further inquiries led detectives to attend a correctional centre in Silverwater on July 27, 2022, where a 30-year-old man was charged with murder.

He appeared at Campbelltown Local Court on July 28 where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 21 September 2022.

During an appeal for information earlier this year, Campbelltown Police crime manager Detective Chief Inspector Greg Inger said police were confident there were people with information about Reece’s death who haven’t yet come forward.

“This has been a complex investigation that has seen detectives explore several lines of inquiry; however, a lot of questions remain unanswered,” he said.

“Reece was stabbed around 7pm in the vicinity of Queenscliff Drive, Woodbine – this was a brazen act in a usually quiet Sydney suburb, which is likely to have been witnessed or heard by members of the public in the area.”
