It’s your chance to pick the name and colours of the Macarthur region’s new A-League team.
The first of several community forums will be held on February 28 at the Campbelltown Catholic Club.
A panel from the club will take questions from the audience to discuss the identity of the team and how it will engage with the community.
For those not able to attend, the panel will also be taking questions from social media and the event will also be live streamed.
An online poll on the name and colours is also being held to gather the opinions of fans.
Director Gino Marra said a series of forums would be held throughout the Macarthur and South West regions.
“This is the start of the formal community engagement but we’ve already done a fair bit getting out to local schools and speaking to local clubs,” he said.
Mr Marra said following the community engagement, the club directors would meet with key stakeholders to eventually make a decision on the club name and colours.
While the club has begun to ramp up its community engagement, Mr Marra said the a coaching appointment was still several months away.
“We still have to get the operational structure together and then we can look at the coach,” he said.
“We can’t speak to coaches who are contracted for another 6 months.”
Campbelltown Mayor George Brticevic said the club was committed to engaging with grassroots fans and was looking forward to hearing people’s suggestions.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for people to help form their own club and be a part of shaping the identity,” he said.
Cr Brticevic said a personal preference of his would be to have a jersey similar to those of Italy’s Juventus or Seattle Sounders of the US.
Fans wanting to get a glimpse of what the future holds can also head to Campbelltown Stadium this Saturday where A-League heavyweights Sydney FC will take on Wellington Phoenix.
