A south western Sydney man has denied using his mobile phone to send seven graphic videos of children engaged in sexual acts over a two-month period.

Aaron Crofts, 34, appeared in Picton Local Court on Wednesday after being charged with seven counts of disseminating child sex abuse material.

Police allege the Mount Annan resident sent seven explicit child sex abuse videos between April 12 and May 29 last year using his mobile phone.

According to documents tendered to the court, the videos included child exploitation images of pre-pubescent girls and boys which focused on their exposed genitals.

Police allege a number of the videos depicted masturbation by a minor and one video showed an underage female being subjected to penetrative sex.

Police allege six of the videos are classified as Category One on the Interpol Baseline Scale, which means they depict a real child under 13 years old either involved in or witnessing a sexual act, with a focus on their genitals.

The court documents state the seventh video would be classed at Category Two, which means it contains children and would be considered illegal in any country.

A police investigation into the videos culminated in the arrest of Mr Crofts on March 2 at 7.45am.

On Wednesday, he entered not guilty pleas to all seven charges before the court. A full brief of evidence was handed to Mr Crofts in court, which he was directed to review before his next court appearance.

Mr Crofts has been granted strict conditional bail which requires him to report to police everyday and observe a nightly curfew.

As well as being forbidden from approaching any prosecution witnesses, the court heard the Mount Annan resident had to surrender his passport - which was issued under the name Aaron Ellicombe.

The court documents reveal his bail stipulates he is not allowed to have a smart phone or a computer connected to the internet. The passcode to his non-smart phone must be provided to police for inspection, the documents state.

Mr Crofts will return to Picton Court on May 11.
