AFTER years of parking pain at Campbelltown Hospital, visitors will finally have their choice of parking space — but it will come at a cost.
As part of the $632 million upgrade to the hospital, a new eight-storey car park will be built containing 800 spaces.
A development application was lodged with Campbelltown Council on December 22.
The new parking spaces won’t come free, however, with users having to pay a maximum of $18 a day for parking.
The first 15 minutes will be free before fees start at $6 for the first hour and increasing incrementally each hour, with the maximum fee applying for five hours or more.
Hospital staff will pay a $21 weekly fee for parking.
Concessional parking fees will be available for certain patient categories.
Campbelltown Hospital general manager Alison Derrett said the hospital redevelopment would deliver world class health care to the Macarthur region community.
“As part of the redevelopment, the current plans include building a new multistorey car park
with eight levels and approximately 800 spaces,” Ms Derrett said.
“The new multistorey parking will be located on the southeastern side of the hospital near
Appin Rd and easily accessible from both entries.”
