Enzo Moon, who is quietly putting his way to trophies, is determined to enjoy himself and not put too much pressure on himself.

The Campsie local was honoured by Canterbury state Labor MP Sophie Cotsis for winning several trophies, including the under 10 Jack Newton Junior Golf state title in 2018.

“Enzo has a great future ahead of him,” Ms Cotsis said.

“I am pleased to have been able to present Enzo with a certificate recognising his outstanding achievements at such a young age.

“I wish him all the best and hope to see him playing for Australia in the future.”

Enzo, 11, is this week’s Junior Sports Star Individual nominee for the Local Sports Stars Awards and is enjoying a superb season. He has won the Macarthur Junior Masters, the Peter O’Malley Junior Masters and the Wagga Wagga Junior Masters.

Enzo plays off a handicap of 6.4 and says he enjoys golf and would like to become a professional player.

“I don’t follow any particular golf player and I don’t like having goals,” Enzo said.

“I want to be the happiest golfer and not the world’s number one golfer.”

The Campsie Public School student is coached by Sarah Oh and practises at Milperra Driving Range, George’s George River Golf Club and Strathfield Golf Club.

His dad Hee and mum Young encourage him to do his best.

“I am always telling Enzo to remember you’re only 11 years old and you may make lots of mistakes but keep trying,” Hee Moon said.
