Local Sports Star: Hinchinbrook’s Kaiser Tat recognised for fairness and sportsmanship

When he’s not training on the basketball court, Kaiser Tat is training with his swim squad or busy with his school sporting commitments.

The 11-year-old athlete from Hinchinbrook is the very embodiment of dedication, throwing himself into his passions.

Kaiser is this week’s Local Sports Star nominee in the Young Sporting Spirit category.

He began playing basketball with local team Hoopsters in Miller every Saturday at the age of eight. Within one year, he was selected to play on a representative team.

Since then, he has cemented his place in the under-12s boys representative team for Camden Valley Wildfire for three consecutive years.

Kaiser’s mother, Lola Lay, said he was an honest and fair athlete who always chipped in for the team.

“He is always eager to help his fellow teammates and is always the first to lend a helping hand, not only at the games but also in training,” she said.
