WHEN she was little, Scarlet Proc was given a ball by her dad and has not looked back since, turning out for two local teams and has ambitions of representing her mum’s favourite team, Brighton & Hove Albion in England.

Scarlet, who turns 10 in July, also plays netball and softball but is focused on football, saying she loves the challenge of controlling the ball.

In softball, Scarlet helped the Hills District Softball Association under-11 team’s T-ball team to take the silver medal at the state titles this year.

The Beaumont Hills youngster also represents Rouse Hill Anglican College in netball while being a part of the team which finished third at the Christian Schools Sports Association football gala day competition.

”I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old and love being able to control and run with the ball,” Scarlet said.

“I have played on boys and girls teams.

“Because of netball I now play on a girls team as this is played on a Sunday meaning I can play netball on Saturday and SAP soccer Saturday afternoon.

“My mum comes from England and supports Brighton and Hove Albion and she wants me to play for them.

“My dad bought me a soccer ball when I was younger and haven’t stopped playing it since.

“I usually play midfield although my favourite is striker of course.

“I want to make the under-12’s Hills girls SAP team next year and in the long term I would love to play soccer in England or Europe.”

“I have learnt so much from my coach, Olivia Price who plays for Sydney FC,” she said.

“In November I will play for the under-1’s Hornsby District Softball Association rep team at State Championships at Blacktown International Sports Park, which is really exciting to play on Diamond 1.”
