Woman arrested over alleged involvement in Jacob Najjar kidnapping

A woman is one of seven people to be charged over their alleged involvement of two kidnappings following an assault of a TikTok personality and cafe owner Jacob Najjar.

A woman is the seventh person to be charged over their alleged involvement of two kidnappings following an assault of a TikTok personality and cafe owner Jacob Najjar at Lidcombe.

The 36-year-old owner of the Thirsty Monkey cafe chain was allegedly assaulted and forced into a vehicle from a unit along Grazier St on November 4.

He was found almost 24 hours later nearly 30km away on Lower Washington Drive, Bonnet Bay, with facial injuries and was taken to Sutherland Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established Strike Force Rowallan to investigate, linking the incident to the alleged kidnapping of a 44-year-old man from a shop on Park Rd, Regents Park, on October 6.

Detectives from Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Lutetium to investigate and six people have been charged so far and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives carried out a search warrant in North Ryde on Thursday where they arrested a 24-year-old woman.

She was taken to Gladesville police sation where she was charged with two counts of taking or detaining in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm, conspiracy to take or detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm, and participating in criminal group.

The woman was refused bail and appeared before Burwood Court on Wednesday.

Police will allege the conspiracy to take or detain relates to a third kidnapping the woman was planning to execute to recover a financial debt.

Inquiries under Strike Force Lutetium continue.
