Detectives have charged a man with firearm offences after uncovering cocaine and Rolex watches in a raid as part of an investigation into the activities of organised crime networks.

Strike Force Sugarcane was established by State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad in July 2021 to investigate the activities of an organised crime networks.

In September, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Wolli Creek where they discovered and seized two prohibited firearms in September last year.

Following further inquiries, detectives and the riot squad executed another search warrant at an address on Lucas Ave in Moorebank at about 7am on Thursday before they arrested Amin Arab.

During the search, detectives allegedly located nine mobile phones, designer jewellery, four Rolex watches, two Hublot watches, approximately 150 grams of cocaine and other items relevant to the supply of prohibited drugs.

The items were seized for further forensic examination.

Investigators will further allege Arab has links to a prohibited firearm seized in Wolli Creek last year.

Arab had his matter mentioned before Liverpool Local Court on Friday and was refused bail.

According to court documents, Arab allegedly possessed a Colt Pistol with the serial numbers completely filed off near the gun handle in Sefton in Sydney’s southwest.

The matter will return to Liverpool Local Court for mention on June 16.
