The creative minds behind a popular vegan eatery in Sydney’s southwest are taking on iconic dishes from different cultures — all with a plant-based twist.

Sisters Hana Kosikova and Iva Kafkova are inviting customers on a culinary trip around the world, offering exclusive menus for a limited time at Way2Live Cafe and Pantry in Hammondville.

The specially crafted menus are available every second weekend and the next stop is Vietnam.

Inspired by suggestions from customers and staff, the sisters have already taken on the classic flavours of Japan, Brazil, Germany, Australia, Austria, Czech Republic and Lebanon.

“It’s a specifically created menu, from the entrees, sweets, drinks, mains — 100 per cent plant-based vegan with the flavours of the specific destination,” Ms Kosikova.

This weekend’s foray into the realm of Vietnamese flavours will see customers treated to iconic dishes such as banh xeo (savoury pancakes), banh mi (rolls) with plant-based duck and jackfruit, spring rolls, sweets such as coconut mango jelly and sticky banana pudding, and more.

The sisters have also sourced coffee beans from Vietnam to create their version of Vietnamese iced coffee.

The duo decided to shake up their menu offerings by incorporating different cuisines to show what’s possible with vegan ingredients.

“Basically … I was just bored and I wanted to show … people it’s possible to create anything plant-based and you have different flavours,” Ms Kosikova said.

“I think … around this area people are eating and they still don’t explore, so I wanted to show them and explore. If they can’t travel, come and taste.”

The cafe’s Vietnamese menu will be available this Saturday and Sunday.
