Teenage boy critical with severe burns after fire at Carnes Hill

A teenage boy has been left in a critical condition with severe burns after an explosion in a southwest Sydney home. Here is what we know.

A teenage boy is in a critical but stable condition after reports of an explosion leaving him with severe burns in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services arrived at a home just after 7pm to find a teen suffering severe burns on Laurieton Rd, Carnes Hill.

Paramedics treated the teen at the scene for his injuries before transporting him with a medical team on board in a critical but stable condition to Concord Hospital.

NSW Fire Rescue were also called to attend the Carnes Hill home but found the fire had already been extinguished, and assisted police in establishing a crime scene.

Police said their initial inquiries into the incident do not indicate any suspicious circumstances and have deemed the incident accidental.
