Jade Errington is a name you should remember.
The 12-year-old cricket champion is on her way to the top.
A permanent fixture in the cricket nets, Jade has been playing cricket since she was five.
Now 12, the Wattle Grove athlete has steadily added a slew of achievements to her personal sporting record.
This year she was selected to represent the state as part of the NSW Metro Blues under-17 team and the girls’ indoor cricket side.
Jade’s talent has not gone unnoticed having been chosen this year to take part in the Cricket NSW Female Metropolitan Academy for the second time in a row.
As a valued member of Moorebank cricket club, she regards her team as family.
“When you play with the same people you feel really good,” Jade said.
With dreams of playing cricket professionally, her role model is Ellyse Perry.
“Other than being good at cricket, she has good sportsmanship,” Jade said.
“If the other team wins, you should be happy for them. You don’t have to be a sore loser.”
Jade is The Leader’s latest nominee for the Junior Sports Star award, sponsored by Rebel.
