WATCHING aeroplanes taking off and landing at Sydney airport will soon become a daily sight for residents of southwest Sydney’s tallest building.
Those living on the upper levels of the 30-storey Skyhaus project at Liverpool will enjoy panoramic views, stretching from Sydney’s CBD and the Harbour Bridge all the way to the Blue Mountains and back around again.
And many new residents could be taking in the wraparound 360 degrees of Sydney by Christmas.
Developers expect residents living on the first 20 floors of the $100 million development should be there in time to unwrap their presents.
Construction of the final four floors is in progress, with the fitout of apartments following at a rapid pace as 180 building workers make the tower a reality.
The first 28 floors have already sold off the plan, as have half of the final two floors, yet to be built.
Skyhaus, at the corner of Macquarie St and the Hume Highway, is more than twice as high as any existing building in Liverpool.
It is a harbinger of things to come as Liverpool starts expanding upwards in advance of the expected boom when it becomes a halfway point between Sydney airport and the second airport at Badgerys Creek.
The most expensive apartment in the new block is a $725,000 residence on the 21st floor, which boasts views towards the city from a 92sq m terrace which is bigger than the apartment itself.
The costliest apartments on the top floor are two-bedders costing $639,000, or $699,000 for the bigger “dual key” model, which allows buyers to rent out an apartment within an apartment.
The new tower will soon have a sister building on the adjoining site, with a smaller six-storey block next door.
It will include a swimming pool and landscaped terrace area on the fifth floor.
