A pub and 26 serviced apartments have been proposed for a vacant plot of land in the growing suburb of Edmondson Park.
The development would sit on a 8883 sqm site near the intersection of Camden Valley Way and Bernera Rd and service one of Liverpool’s newest communities.
Plans lodged this week with Liverpool Council show the apartment building would be two storeys high with 26 rooms, conference and gym facilities, and one level of basement parking with 66 car spaces.
A single-storey pub would operate adjacent to the 24-hour hotel, with rooms for dining, gaming and a sports bar, as well as 193 parking spaces for patrons.
Planning documents state the pub would be a family-friendly food and drink premises with a children’s area, outdoor dining spaces and a restaurant.
They reveal high-profile hotelier Peter De Angelis’ family operation DHI Group — which runs several hotels in the southwest including in Moorebank and the Macarthur region — is behind the $21 million project.
According to a statement of environmental effects, the pub’s proposed trading hours would be 8am to midnight from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, it would operate from 10am to 10pm.
The report cited a need for short stay accommodation close to the future Western Sydney International Airport and social infrastructure to cater for a growing population.
“The combination of population growth, improved local, regional and international connectivity combined with increased employment opportunity will require significant supporting development including the provision of short stay accommodation (serviced apartments) to cater to the new international airport and Badgerys Creek Aerotropolis,” it stated.
The plans are currently under preliminary assessment.
