A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a multi-vehicle crash on the M5 Motorway in Sydney this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Moorebank - just past the Hume Highway - shortly after 6 o’clock.

The rider, believed to be aged in his 30s, has been taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Only one city-bound lane of the M5 remained open as responders worked to clear the scene.

Live Traffic NSW is now reporting that all city-bound lanes have reopened, but “continue to expect delays as traffic remains heavy on the M5 and Hume Motorway”.
