Community members and sponsors dug deep last weekend at the Liverpool Charity Ball, raising almost $50,000 for a new healing garden at Liverpool Hospital.
The event was a huge success with more than 250 people attending the black-tie function at Liverpool Catholic Club last Saturday.
The funds will go towards a healing garden, designed to offer patients and visitors a tranquil space as well as enhancing the hospital’s front entrance.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller thanked the community for its generosity.
“This was our fourth annual Charity Ball and those who have been before all remarked this was the best yet,” Cr Waller said. “It was also a huge success, with guests showing their willingness to put their hands in their pockets to support a great cause.”
A cheque presentation was held at Liverpool Hospital yesterday.
The healing garden will be finished later this month.
