A member of the Australian Defence Force charged with a string of domestic violence offences against a fellow member of the force has been accused of destroying a bed head and wine glass.
James Guthrie, 30, pleaded not guilty to six counts of common assault and two counts of destroying or damaging property.
He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear or physical harm.
In documents tendered to court, Guthrie allegedly destroyed a wine glass belonging to a woman between October 1 and October 31 at Caringbah.
In another instance, Guthrie allegedly damaged a bed head belonging to the same woman on November 9, also at Caringbah.
Court documents also allege he assaulted and intimidated the woman at Holsworthy in October, as well as allegedly assaulting the woman on a seperate occasion - about 2.34am on November 11 - at Caringbah.
Guthrie appeared at Liverpool Local Court with his lawyer Ms Turner on Tuesday to request for a bail variation.
She asked the court to allow her client to live at his Cronulla home, instead of Holsworthy to avoid seeing the alleged victim.
The police prosecutor told the court the “(alleged) victim’s protection is the ultimate concern”.
The court heard the incident was initially investigated by military police. The woman then reported the incident to NSW Police, which subsequently launched an investigation.
The bail variation was granted by Magistrate Greg Elks with Guthrie to continue bail at his Cronulla home.
The matter was adjourned and listed for a one-day hearing on March 8 at Liverpool Local Court.
